Product Review: Sleek Mini-Brush Set

Hey Lovelies,

I was doing my usual makeup routine this morning when I realized that I’ve had my Sleek Mini Brush Set for a long time (4 years and counting). I remember vividly it was one of my first major makeup investments.I got it for about 2500NGN,not very sure how much it costs now. Funny it never crossed my mind to do a review on this cool brushes but the inspiration is here….*grins*.

Sleek Mini Brush Set

This is a personal set that has five (5) small but fantastic brushes which include
  1. Foundation brush.
  2. Powder/blush brush
  3. Eye shadow brush.
  4. Lip brush.
  5. Eyeliner brush.
And of course, they come in a black pouch which is pretty cool.

The set is pocket friendly. It’s so small that it would fit into any makeup purse. The brushes do not shed hair so much and I’ve not had cause to replace any of them over the years.  I’ve actually turned the eye shadow brush into a blending brush… it’s a plus to my pro brush set. Truth be told, this is a must-have for every makeup lover.

However, the brushes are quite small, so you may have to do twice as much application as you would with the bigger professional ones.

I hope you found the review helpful. Have a great day!

Hugs and Kisses,
Missglam.

The Purple Piece

Hey Lovelies,

I got busy with my brushes and colors over the weekend and created this sultry look. So by popular demand…*flutters lashes*, I decided to do a piece on how to get the look.

For the eyes, start with the purple shadow from  Zaron True Fantasy shadow as first base then apply the Carbon shadow just at the corners of the eyes to smoke them out…

Eyes-            Zaron True Fantasy and  MAC Carbon Eye shadow

The MAC liquid eyeliner comes in handy for the upper lids, then add a touch of color to the tear ducts with the Jordana Purple Fusion twist-up pencil.

Upper Lids-     Mac Liquid Eyeliner
Inner Eyes-      Jordana Purple Fusion Eyeliner

Add color to the cheeks with MAC Sweet As Cocoa blush powder

Cheeks-           Sweet As Cocoa Blush Powder

This is my best part of the whole look, *grins*.Apply this very “yum” MAC lip color in two coats, the lipglass goes in the middle of the lips, then blend well.

Lips-                MAC Up the Amp Lipstick and Clear Lip glass

Finish this look by applying loose powder to the face to freshen up the makeup.

Face-             Nars Loose Powder

And there you have it!!!

The black|Up arrival in Ikeja...

Hey lovelies,
How did your week go? I’m sure you'll be glad to say TGIF,eh?..Well, my week didnt turn out to be all that but I’m excited about this post cos I’m about to share with you,my experience and pictures from the black|Up makeup store launch that happened last Sunday, the 22nd of Jul at the Ikeja City Mall.
Despite the showers on sunday,I was determined to make it to the launch cos I love the black|Up brand and I didn’t want to miss it for nothing at all. So I got there a little before 2pm and met the MUAs doing their thing on the models. The event started buzzing later with beautiful women coming to get their faces done and going away with goodie bags after purchasing products. I didn’t get my face done but I sure had plenty fun, learning about the products, networking, watching David Coranson-Beaudu, the Creative Ambassador for black|Up Paris perform his makeup magic and chatting away with my friends that showed up.
I got one of these really lovely eyeliners…very richly pigmented, I tell you.
See the lovely pictures I got with my cam and those I pulled out from some websites:

Harshlines..

Harshlines are always 'no-nos' when it comes to proper eye-shadow application. To start off, smooth on an eye-shadow primer beforehand,so that it will have something to grip on.Then apply the shadow using a flat brush...make sure to use a blending brush (very important to have one or more of this) to remove the harshlines.

Blending is KEY!!!
